Synes "A wooden fish on wheels" på cpfc.org hadde en glimrende analogi til situasjonen i Palace de siste 10 årene. Antar dere skjønner hvem som er hva etc:

"I'd like to try another analogy seeing as we are doing them.

There is a nice girl called Crystal Alice and along comes a smooth talker, Ron, who wins her affection and starts to go out with her.

But almost straight away he puts her on the game and acts as her pimp taking all the cash she earns off her. She has some good times with him over the years but ultimately he takes her house and holiday home and transfers them into his name, all the time feeding her less and less and taking more and more of the cash that she earns. He beats her and rapes and abuses her and says she doesn't work as hard as the white prostitutes.

But there is one of her punters who likes her and he wants to buy her off him - Ron knows this guy is too nice to be a successful pimp and he knows he has all her cash and property but he already has his eye on Brenda Ford, his next pimping project.

So he rapes and beats Crystal one last time and sells her to this well meaning but ultimately useless punter. At first Crystal is happy as Mark lavishes her with gifts and new clothes. But Mark cannot sustain the spending on her and she slips into a deep depression and illness and nearly dies.

All her friends rally around and find her a nice new bloke called Simon who genuinely loves her and has always loved her since he was at school. He wants to keep her in the manner that she is used to and even tries to buy her old house back from Ron the Pimp for her. He has to get a big mortgage and he tries his hardest but unfortunately he just doesn't have enough money and after more than ten years of trying he runs out of money to look after her and pay the mortgage. Crystal Alice falls back into a deep depression and finds it hard to get another boyfriend.

Some of Crystal's foolish friends look back and think that perhaps she was better off with Ron as she seemed happier at times, but the more astute ones are able to see that her depression started with Ron in the first place, and without him and the burden he placed on her then who knows what she would have made of her life?

Anyway - you'll never guess what. After all she has been through the worst thing possible happens... Ron the rapist pimp (who is now retired in luxury with the money he made from her and invested) sees that she is at rock bottom and realises that she is vulnerable enough for him to scrape her off the floor and put her back on the game again for him to whore.

You'll be pleased to know that there is a happy ending to the story. Crystal makes some new friends and they look after her. They tell Ron to go away and stay away and her confidence returns and soon she is happy and smiling and becomes quite successful in her life. She is even able to be friends with Simon again.

Ron becomes ill and dies a miserable lonely death surrounded by his piles of ill-gotten of cash."

"Fin" historie

Stemte på det første alternativet, jeg. Virker som en fornuftig løsning, der vi kanskje ikke kan forvente løfter om gull og grønne skoger, men der jeg håper at det er større sjanse for en veldrevet klubb med lokal tilhørighet som vil være å finne på øvre halvdel av Championship med muligheter for opprykk/playoff i løpet av noen få år.
